Abstract:
The M’Sila area presents very interesting natural vegetation: high altitude formations include Cedrus atlantica and others like Pinus halepensis and Juniperus phoenicea and low altitude formations contain Artemisea herba-alba. These formations contain a rich and diverse flora, and are of economic and ecological interest. For the safeguarding and the valorization of this natural inheritance, we contributed to a floristic inventory in M’Sila. The follow-up of a series of ethnobotanical investigations carried out using a questionnaire made it possible to collect certain information on the use of these plants from the inhabitants of the communes of this area. Thus, we listed 77 medicinal species, indexed in 60 genera and 31 families. Endemic and rare species are inventoried in the various sampled stations.
