- The work described here deals with nodulation and with the dry weight of the garden pea as affected by sulfur and 10 sulfates. It was found that CaSO4 and FeESO4 increased nodule production and dry weight; (NH4)SO4 increased dry weight but not nodulation; NaSO4 and ZnSO4 increased nodulation but did not affect dry weight. CuS04, CrSO4, K2SO4, etc., depressed nodule production and dry weight. Sulfur in elementary form stimulated nodule production but slightly depressed dry weight.
