- As the past two decades have seen major changes in consumerism in this country, the establishment of an Industry Policy Issues Council is considered which would act as a focus for laying down some broad strategic guidelines for industry operation and behavior. By being proactive it can show the consumers that the industry has a credible sense of responsibility.
