- Trematoda, islands, marine fish, new subgenus, Arabian Sea, India
- A large collection of trematodes was made by the senior author from marine fishes at Laccadive Islands (Arabian Sea) and Panaji (Goa). The major portion of the collection has already been dealt with by him. Due to unavailability of certain literature, some specimens were left out unidentified. They have now been identified. Five of them have come out to be new to science and for one a new subgenus has been proposed. These are: Uterovesiculurus berdae sp.n., Plerurus ashiaee sp.n., Pseudopecoelus pritchardae sp.n. Podocotyle (Indopodocotyloides) simhai subg.n. spn.n., Helicometrina orientalis Srivastava, 1936 and Lepocreadium panajiense sp.n. The validitiy of each new form has been discussed.
