Activite antioxydante et teneur en polyphenols des differents extraits des fruits, des racines et de bourgeons floraux de Myrtus communis L

The investigation of the antioxidant activity and the content on total phenols, flavonoids and proanthocyanidins of crude ethanolic extract (EE) and its fractions using ethyl acetate (AF) and butanol (BF) obtained from Myrtus communis L. different organs: fruits, roots and floral buds are the main objective of this study. The fruits are the richest part on total phenols (from 22.8 to 50.4 mg GAE/g of extract) while floral buds are the richest in flavonoids (from 16.9 to 34.48 mg Q/g of extract). β-carotene bleaching test and DPPH radical scavenging activity were used to evaluate the antioxidant capacity. It was found that the studied extracts exhibited variable antioxidant activity. The same order of increasing activity was observed, by the two tests, between the different studied organs: roots < fruits < floral buds. A positive correlation between flavonoids content and antioxidant activity was observed.
