Abstract:
A new sesquiterpene derivative, 10-methoxythujopsene (1), was isolated from the red mould rice of Monascus kaoliang. The structure was determined by extensive NMR and MS spectroscopic analysis. The relative configuration of 1 was established by the use of ROESY spectroscopic data.
