In vitro Antibacterial Evaluation of 1,2,4-Triazole Compounds Containing Purine Moiety

- 9H-[1,2,4]Triazolo[4,3-g]purin-5-amine (2) was synthesized by reaction of 6-hydrazinyl-7H-purin-2-amine (1a) with formic acid under reflux conditions. Treating compound 1a in ethanol with CS₂ in the presence of KOH yielded 5-amino-3H-[1,2,4]triazolo[4,3-g]purine-3-thione (3). The new synthesized compounds were characterized using IR, ¹H NMR, and elemental analysis. The synthesized compounds have been screened for antibacterial activity.
