Abstract:
Byrsonima fanshawei is a rare species of Malpighiaceae that was described based only on a fruiting specimen from Kaieteur Plateau, Guyana. Here we provide an emended description, including a complete description of floral characters, along with new records of the species from the Brazilian states of Amazonas and Espírito Santo, and the Venezuelan state of Amazonas.
