The temperature range for freezing damage and its relation to hardiness
- PEARCE, R. S.

- Poaceae, alfalfa, data collection, fruit trees, temperature
- Several sets of data suggest that the range of temperatures over which damage or kill due to frost progressively increases (i.e. Δ°C/Δd, where d is % damage or % kill) is correlated with hardiness. The relationship may exist for several species of Gramineae, for alfalfa and for several types of tree and fruit bush. There appear to be exceptions to this generalization. A hypothetical explanation is offered.
