New norclerodane diterpenoids from Dioscorea bulbifera

Abstract:
Three new norclerodane diterpenoids, diosbulbin E acetate (1), diosbulbin R (2), and diosbulbin S (3), and seven known compounds (4-10) were isolated from an ethanol extract of Dioscorea bulbifera tubers. The structure of compounds 1–10 was determined through extensive NMR and mass spectroscopic analyses. The new compounds were investigated to determine their cytotoxic activity against the SMMC-7721 cancer cell line.
