Ferromagnetism and microwave absorption properties of Cr-doped MoS2 nanosheets

Abstract:
We report the robust room-temperature ferromagnetic behavior and electromagnetic microwave absorption property of Cr-doped MoS₂ nanosheets synthesized by hydrothermal method. The static and dynamic measurement results indicate that the Cr dopants can effectively improve the ferromagnetic behavior of MoS₂ nanosheets as well as their microwave attenuation performance in the frequency range from 2 to 18 GHz. An minimal reflection loss value of − 43 dB is achieved with 2 mm thickness and the Cr dopants of 4.24 at.%. This study demonstrates the capability of Cr-doped MoS₂ nanosheets to be an outstanding candidate for high-efficiency microwave absorption.
