- Four new gastrodin derivatives containing a trans-cinnamoyl unit (1–4) and nine known compounds (5–13) were isolated from the rhizomes of Gastrodia elata Blume. All these compounds were evaluated for their neuroprotective effects against 6-hydroxydopamine-induced cell death, and compounds 7 and 12 showed potent activities with EC₅₀ values of 10.5 and 10.2 μM, respectively.
